Jackson Township, located in Stark County, is a fast growing community with a population of over 35,000. Spanning over 36 miles, the Township provides the services of a larger city, including with its own full-time fire, police and highway departments. Jackson is home to the Belden district, one of the largest concentrated shopping areas around. There are alsomany office buildings and restaurants. Residents can enjoy seven community parks, and the recently acquired 400-acre Jackson Nature Preserve as well as the Jackson Bog State Nature Preserve.

The first settlers arrived in the area that is now Jackson Township in 1806. The area of 36 square miles was partitioned out of Plain Township and was named in honor of General Andrew Jackson. The townships First election of trustees was in 1815, and by the 1820's schools, churches, general stores an Inns were being built. The township remained a rural area until the end of World War II, when new allotments built to accommodate the housing needs of returning veterans and their families. In late1960's Beldon Village Mail was built next to the Everhard Road exit of I-77, and from then on the nature of the town changed the years to come would see the population grow from 20,000 to over 33,000 residents. Today, the township has about 36,000 residents and continues to grow as a commercial development with many new neighborhoods.
