Medina is located in north central Ohio and is the nineteenth most populated county in the state. Medina County has a population of 25,139 and is currently one of Ohio's fastest growing counties. Medina City boasts 13 city parks and facilities featuring basketball, softball, baseball, soccer, and football fields. Some parks include sand volleyball courts, and walking trails through scenic woods. Memorial Park, a centrally located park set on 11 acres includes a public pool, sledding hills, picnic pavilions, and fitness courts. Another beautiful attraction is Lake Medina, which offers over 300 acres of water and 45 acres of land. It is currently a preservation area, and perfect for long, scenic walks or picnics. Fishing is allowed from shore.

Medina was founded and incorporated in 1814. It was part of what was called the Connecticut Western Reserve, because many early settlers were from Connecticut. After the revolutionary war, much of the land was sold to private investors. Medina was incorporated as the county's seat in 1835, and has been flourishing ever since. Medina's quaint downtown area is reminiscent of hte Victorian era, with extensive renovations preserving it's visual appeal.

Medina City School District has 6,416 students enrolled and 430 certified staff members. Medina currently has one high school that is expanding to 3 times its original size. The new high school will provide a community fitness center with swimming pools and an additional auditorium for the performing arts. Medina County Career Center offers adult education, high school technical training for junior and senior high school students
